The Saturday Post: Rainy Days

The Saturday Post

“Sit down! Hurry up! PAY ATTENTION!” Chances are if you went to public school, or private school for that matter, you’ve heard these phrases uttered more than once. If you were like me, a wild child, you probably heard them a few times every hour.

My time was spent staring out the window, wishing I could go outside.

When recess hit, I was the first one out that door and into the little woods next to the playground I went.

We weren’t supposed to go in there but I didn’t care.  There were no other kids there and I liked that.  We didn’t really get along, the other kids and I.

They made jokes about my old clothes and how I talked.  I liked big words, they felt good rolling out of my mouth.

When I was kept inside for misbehaving or it was raining out, I would sit by the window and look outside. I would close my eyes and remember the feeling of being in my woods, the warmth of the sun on my face, the chitter chatter of my friends the chipmunks. Sometimes the rain would clear and we could go back outside, sometimes it wouldn’t.

What I didn’t know back then, or maybe what I didn’t need to know, was that I was manifesting my day.  I would spend hours each day starring out the window or with my eyes closed “daydreaming” about what I wanted to happen.  Teachers and parents usually deem this a waist of time and call young ones back to “reality.”

This could be one of the biggest detriments we teach our next generations, our concept of focusing on what is instead of what we desire.  No one taught me how to daydream.

I just did it because it made me feel better to think about where I wanted to be instead of the discomfort of where I presently was.

Who’s to say, I could have cleared those clouds and made it possible for us to all go out and play.

Maybe not, either way I was focusing on my desired goal, not the problem.

Manifestation is something everyone is concerned about whether they know it or not.  Even if they don’t call it “manifestation,” we all go through our days thinking, “I want this experience.  I want that car.  I want their health.”  Wanting is the first step.  It points us in a direction we wish to go.  However, in our society, we are taught to want is to be greedy and selfish.  So most of us stall out at this point, or worse, we give rise to complaining and making excuses for why things are the way they are.

There is no reason, other than the ones we give ourselves, that we all cannot create exactly what we choose to experience. We already have the first step of the process down.

  1. I want _______.
  2. Daydream the hell out of that want.
  3. Acknowledge when the universe gives you a sneak peek with gratitude.
  4. Daydream some more, really get into it. Use the sneak peek as a building block.
  5. When the want arrives, jump on that bugger and hold onto it like a new puppy! Drink in the experience, thank yourself and the universe and again use this as a building block for your next manifestation.

Once you do it once you can do it again, and again, and again.  I am no expert at this by any means but I have manifested some really awesome people, places and things for myself.  I’m slowly getting back to that place where I made all of my rain clouds disappear and my personal sun is starting to shine again.  I wish the same and more for you too.  Have a great week.

Namaste Friends.
